YOUR INNER CIRCLE

I have big goals for myself this year.

In case you missed yesterday's post- you can see those goals here
I can't just let myself float along and think that I will be able to hit those goals without some hardwork involved.
I have been thinking about how I am going to achieve these goals, and I think a big part of it starts with who I surround myself with.
My inner circle.

What a lucky person I am because I am surrounded by beautiful people!

There are a bunch of sayings that you become like the 5 people you spend the most time with,
so it would make sense to start surrounding myself with people who have big goals for their year too.
Luckily, I have found an awesome mentor and accountability partner to help me.
I have a best friend who has big goals for her year too, and we help to push each other out of our comfort zones.

There are some people that have become toxic, which sucks but the beauty of growing up is that you don't have to be friends with people who no longer add to your life.  Maybe a "friend audit" is in order.  If you have relationships in your life that are only draining you or hindering you from reaching your goals, then you have to do what is best for you- and that could be to stop investing so much time in those people.  Focus on you and where you are going.

How are you going to reach your goals this year?

NEW YEAR'S GOALS

Every year my friend Cheryl and I get together to list out our goals for the year.
This year we were lucky enough to be in the same place at the same time to write out our lists together!
Here are my goals for the year:

1- Sell 48 houses
I have 1 listing under contract so far!

2- Get a dog

I want a cockapoo so badly! Guess Dolly will have to tie me over until I can afford one!
My parents bought me this stuffed dog for my birthday and said, "now you don't need a real dog!"

3- Lose 15 pounds.
3 pounds down so far!

4- Visit Cheryl.
Cheryl lives in Frisco, Colorado.  It's my turn to go and visit her this year!

5- Go to Greece.
I have been wanting to go to Greece for years!

6- Save 30% of my income.
This seems like it will be tough, but as long as I hit my sales goal then it shouldn't be a problem!

7- Do 3 5k's
I think this one is going to be the hardest for me.  I really hate running. But I want to do the fun 5ks like the color run.

8- Visit Kylie.
A few years ago, Cheryl and I took a roadtrip with our Australian friend Kylie from Los Angeles, California to Fairbanks, Alaska.  Kylie is now living in Vancouver, BC so Cheryl and I decided it was close enough to take a little trip up to visit her!

9- Laugh so hard I cry.
This is my favorite on the list.  Last year, I laughed so hard at this thing I found on Pinterest that I was literally crying tears!  I think I found the little girl wanting the be a table to Halloween relatable since one year for Christmas I asked my mom if I could be Mary "Mother of Jesus", and you know what! I was! I wish I had the photo to share with you guys!

10- Fly my kite 2 times.
Cheryl and my other friend Danielle came up to visit me a couple months ago, and we found a kite at the store for $5!  I had never flown a kite before- it was amazing!  I am aiming to go out with it AT LEAST twice!

11- Meet Cheryl in Montana with our pups, my kite, and a bottle of wine!
Cheryl also wants to get a dog this year, and we are both wanting to take a roadtrip, so we thought Montana would be a great place to meet in the middle!  This will probably happen at the end of the year, but I am ok with that!

What are your goals for the year- have you been sticking with them?

LIFE UPDATE

Whoa boy!  Life has been a-changing so much since my last post!

- I passed my Real Estate exam on my first try!
- I was let go from my job.
- I put my first listing on the market.
- I put my first listing under contract.
-  I went to California for 2 and a half weeks to visit family for the holidays.
- I had a medical scare. My mom freaked me out, and I went to the doctors.
- Had my 28th birthday.
2 more days to find out test results, but I don't think it's anything to be worried over.
- I lost 3 pounds.  Then gained 3 pounds.  Then lost 3 pounds.
yeesh. get it together!

It's been such a whirlwind the past few months.  I am ready to dive back in to work, and this blog, and to really take hold of my life and fitness!   Anyone else experiencing a lot in their life right now?

LIFE CHANGES.

I can't even begin to tell you everything that has changed over the past couple of weeks.
I would say "sorry for ignoring my little ol' blog here", but really- I'm not.
Life is kicking me in the a**
I have decided to change from my hourly pay office job into a commission only role.
I'm terrified.
It also might be happening a lot sooner than I anticipated.
Which isn't good for certain aspects of my life, like paying rent and bills.
You know, that silly concept of wanting to have food and shelter.

If you have been ready my past posts, you will know that I haven't stuck to my schedule.
Not that I haven't been getting things done- but I have been slacking in other areas.
I really need to pull together a plan and stick to it.

Anyone else out there in the same boat?

CONFESSION: I'M TERRIFIED OF WINTER

Winter is coming.  That's a fact.
Don't try to tell me that Winter is still many weeks away.
Don't try to tell me that there are still sunny days to enjoy.
Winter is coming.  Winter. Is. Coming.

The view from my apartment window before it really dumped snow!
Growing up in Southern California- where it basically never rains, and when it does you can still wear flip flops... Winter in the Pacific Northwest is absolutely brutal.

Confession:  I didn't own a jacket with a hood until I moved up here last year.

From the first snow dusting last year.  It was a winter wonderland!
Is it too early to prepare for Winter?
I am going to say no.
Just yesterday I purchased from Amazon.com a pair of boots and some Vitamin D pills.
Next on my "to buy" list is a SAD lamp. And a dog.
The dog may need to wait longer than the lamp.

The water fountain in the atrium of my apartment complex- frozen over from coldness!
Who else is preparing for winter right now? Tell me I'm not alone! I'm scared.

TUNES FOR YOUR TUESDAY

I feel like my Tuesday tunes have been a bit of a flashback.  But, you know what?
I don't care!
These songs are awesome.  This one in particular makes me just want to drive around and wreak havoc.
This girl is such a bada$$ like. I can't even.

WEEKENDINGS- LET'S DANCE!

What a weekend!  I feel like I had a great balance between staying in and going out!

Friday, I left work a bit early and hung out with my friend.  We went out to the Bonneville Fish Hatchery and saw the HUGE sturgeon fish!  There I learned something about myself- big fish really freak me out!
Then later that night I met up with some girl friends for dancing at Barrel Room.

Sheila, Me, Allysum. We didn't plan on all wearing matching black outfits!
We ended up migrating over to Whiskey Bar a bit later.  Oh man, so much dancing.  Whiskey Bar had an awesome DJ playing.  I'm not sure if this is TMI, but I was dancing so much my hair was drenched in sweat.  Can that count as a workout?

Saturday, I met up with one of my old co-workers that was in town and had lunch at TILT.
Oh my holy huge delicious burger!  I wish I took a picture.  It was so good.
I wouldn't be disappointed if someone wanted to eat there again!
Then Saturday night I went out to Hobo's to celebrate my friend winning the Mr. Gay Portland contest and headed over to Barrel Room AGAIN for yet more dancing. I just love to dance. Dancing is my favorite.

I had lunch with my friend on Sunday and vegged out to some Doctor Who.  Ah, just living the life.

What did you get into over the weekend?
